What exactly is April Eight?
APRIL EIGHT is an “all-ages” music project led by critically acclaimed musician April Combs. APRIL EIGHT explores the imaginative world of fairies and pixies, wildly dancing goblins, and the natural world.
The songs are humorous, catchy, and soulful, filled with a love-for-life enthusiasm that only April can bring. APRIL EIGHT writes elegant and sonically interesting songs that delight both the fairy obsessed daughter and the Harry Potter fanatic son –and, just as importantly–those still-want-to-listen-to-something-interesting parents. APRIL EIGHT is music that both kids and their adults want to hear.

Does April Eight have a cause?
It seems that almost every song April writes is about self-esteem, self-acceptance, and compassion. Seems like everyone can always use a little more of all of these, even pixies and fairies!

When will the CD come out?
The plan is to share this music out into the world as soon as possible. At this point we are shooting for early Summer 2010.

What is your plan for the CD?
April has just the guy to produce this CD and is thrilled that he is so interested and excited about this project. He's gathered some of our favorite musicians to play on this album. This is what all the money is for. Talented people deserve to get paid, and we don't want to do this thing unless it is going to be great. The songs are ready and April is ready to record them. To record alone will cost about $10,000.

What else do you need money for?
Amazing artwork, eco-friendly packaging and manufacturing, distribution, and publicity. That's easily another $6000+ right there.

I forgot to give you the name I want in the CD thank yous or I need to send my child's image in for the CD. HELP!

How are you getting the money?
All the money is going through PayPal. We like that because we don't have to handle anyone's credit card numbers. We don't even see them. The money goes into a special account just for April Eight and just for this record. We are very careful with your money because we want to make a great recording with it!

Who created the beautiful fairy drawing at the top of the page?
That brilliant artist is April's sister Janet Ivas. You can see much more of her beautiful work here. And if you'd like her to draw a picture of your favorite child as a fairy she can give you more info on that. This one happens to be April's oldest daughter. Janet's artwork is an important part of the whole April Eight concept. We see a series of books to accompany the music.... we have big ideas!
