As you may have read here on my April Eight blog or on the April Eight Facebook page I am working on a self-produced Winter CD out in early November. I am so excited about the songs and inspiration that are coming out of me for this project. It feels as though the fairies have gather around me, whispering ideas into my ear, playing with my hair and breathing songs into my breath so I will sing them out into the world with a voice a bit louder than theirs. Also, they don’t know how to use GarageBand and I do. Are they using me? Well, use away because I have not had so much fun writing and recording in my entire life. I’m a lucky duck!
Alrighty, now I want to share one of the songs I wrote a few weeks ago for this Winter CD I am gabbing on about. I made this little video for you. I am wearing my traveling hat because this is a song about bird migration. Seems like one of the first signs that Winter is on the way is the birds gathering in the trees, discussing their big plans, carb-loading on berries and then heading out in groups toward warmer climes.
I love this. I love the way they all pick one tree to gather in and this tree is a-shimmer with birds (yes, I made up the word “a-shimmer” just now), the cacophony of their songs and chatter, and then off they all go at once to journey on their way.
Today I’m sharing both the video and all the lyrics. Hope you like it!
